MESSAGE FROM PAGEV PRESIDENT YAVUZ EROĞLU

The Heart of the Plastics Industry Beats at Plast Eurasia for the 34th Time

As global economic recovery efforts continue, the Turkish Plastics Industry keeps growing through investment, production, and exports—despite all challenges. We believe that in the face of high inflation, rising input costs, weakening global demand, and declining profitability, Türkiye must take action not to dwell on the crisis but to seize emerging opportunities.

Increasing production costs, difficulties in allocating physical space for establishing modern factories, limited access to financing, and the shortage of qualified labor remain among the key issues our industrialists expect to be addressed.

Removing the barriers to investment, production, employment, and exports and paving the way for our manufacturers should be the foremost priority for Türkiye, which aims to grow with a stable economic model and achieve sustainable development.

When we evaluate the broader outlook of the world economy and narrow it down to the plastics sector, it becomes clear that the Turkish Plastics Industry is one of the leading pillars of our national economy. With production nearing 11 million tonnes in 2024, a turnover of 45 billion dollars, direct product exports exceeding 7 billion dollars, and annual growth consistently surpassing Türkiye’s GDP growth over the past decade, our industry continues to strengthen its contribution to the national economy.

Today, Türkiye ranks second in Europe after Germany and sixth worldwide in plastics production capacity. Despite global challenges, our sector’s capacity utilization rate reached 75.4% in the first half of 2025.

Plast Eurasia: A Showcase for Technology and Innovation

While the globally competitive Turkish Plastics Industry continues to expand in macroeconomic indicators, PAGEV has been accelerating this development by taking important strategic steps. For 34 years, in cooperation with TÜYAP, PAGEV has been organizing the Plast Eurasia International Istanbul Plastics Industry Fair, bringing together all key players of the global plastics industry in Istanbul.

I extend my sincere gratitude to TÜYAP Chairman of the Board, Mr. Bülent ÜNAL—distinguished for his intellectual depth and wise leadership—as well as the entire management team and staff, for 34 years of collaboration built on shared vision and joint effort. I also express my deepest appreciation to all our exhibitors and visitors, whose contributions have been instrumental in making our fair a global brand.

Bringing together manufacturers of machinery, molds, equipment, raw materials, and finished products under one roof, Plast Eurasia has become the showcase for the latest technologies and innovations in the sector. Today, it stands as the world’s second-largest annual plastics trade fair, proudly recognized as a global brand within the international plastics market.

Our fair hosts exhibitors from Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, South Korea, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia, and welcomes more than 70,000 visitors. As the key meeting point of the plastics industry and a platform for productive collaborations, Plast Eurasia continues to attract delegations from the Americas, Europe, China, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

For our industry representatives focused on increasing exports, international buyer delegation programs continue uninterrupted at this year’s fair.

As Plast Eurasia marks its 34th year, I wish all our exhibitors a productive and successful event.
