The Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (TCCIMA) was founded in 1884 as the “House of Commercial Attorneys” by Iranian merchants, including Mohammad Hassan Amin al-Zarb of Isfahan. Established two years before Iran’s Parliament under Nasser al-Din Shah, it faced interruptions and was closed until 1926, when it was revived in the early Pahlavi era. The chamber’s name evolved over time, and in 2011, agriculture was officially added, forming the current TCCIMA. Known as the “Parliament of the Private Sector,” it serves as an elected institution representing business leaders every four years. With representatives from economic ministries, TCCIMA plays a key role in promoting a competitive economy and improving Iran’s business environment through collaboration between the private and public sectors.
