Stearic Acid

Stearic acid is made by hydrolysis of animal and vegetable fats and oils.It is in soluble in water,slightly soluble in benzene and carbon disulphide, and soluble in hot ethanol. Stearic acid is not only an important intermediate for chemical materials, but also widely used invarious industries such as cosmetics/food/rubber and plastic.It is used as activator/dispersant/foaming accelerator and mould releasing agent invarious synthetic rubbers such as natural rubber/SBR/NBR/EP(D)M. It is used as heat stabiliser in PVC pipes/plates/sheets to prevent\"coking\" during processing.
