CALCITE

Calcium carbonate is one of the most fundamental materials in the plastics industry. It can be defined as crystallized calcium carbonate, an industrial mineral. It ranges in grain size from 1 to 100 mm. It is a highly brittle mineral. It is a dense and natural material, making it a preferred choice for commercial use and an important material that reduces production costs. It is used as a filler in the production of pipes, cables, and plastics, adding properties such as hardness and flexibility to the material it is used in. In paint production, it not only provides consistency but also provides gloss. With its bright white color, calcite is also used as a white pigment. In masterbatch production, the rapid dispersion of calcite, meaning it doesn't clump in the mixture, and its degree of whiteness are crucial. Good-quality calcite should also be free of heavy metals, have a low abrasiveness, low oil absorption, be white, and enhance the flexibility of the material it is used in.
