Styrene Acrylonitrile (SAN) Styrene Acrylonitrile (SAN) is a copolymer of styrene with acrylonitrile. Typical acrylonitrile content in the SAN composition is between 20-30%. Basically, it is used in general purpose polystyrene applications requiring additional chemical resistance and medium high temperature resistance. Properties • High transparency • Chemical resistance • High hardness • High surface hardness The SAN is very transparent and has a pleasant brightness. The scratch resistance feature provides a suitable choice for sales point displays and cosmetic items. The SAN is slightly yellow in color, but there are also differently colored variations. While standard SAN is not suitable for outdoor use, they have also UV resistant classes.
