Tisaform® POM

Tisaform® POM is the registered trade mark for Polyoxymethylene-acetal compounds produced by Tisan. Polyoxymethylene (commonly referred to as POM and also known as polyacetal or polyformaldehyde) is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts that require high stiffness, low friction and excellent dimensional stability. Available in two structures: copolymer (POMC) and homopolymer (POMH). POM is characterized by good fatigue life, high resistance to solvents and chemicals and good electrical properties. Acetals often compete with nylons for many of the same applications. Tisaform® POM is used where requirements for good moldability, fatigue resistance and stiffness justify its high price. Tisaform® POM has high tensile strength, stiffness, resilience and moderate toughness under repeated impact. Tisaform® POM has high resistance to organic solvents, excellent dimensional stability, a low coefficient of friction and outstanding abrasion resistance among thermoplastics. Tisaform® POM, formulations can also be developed to meet specific market needs.
