SANDOL (Calcium Oxide)

Calcium oxide is a white, hygroscopic inorganic compound obtained by firing limestone (CaCO³) at high temperatures. Its hygroscopic properties allow it to rapidly absorb water vapor from the air, transforming it into calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)²). This property makes it used to control humidity in closed systems or packaging. Additionally, in some applications, special polymeric or inorganic coatings are applied to the calcium oxide particles to regulate their moisture absorption capacity and increase process safety.
