SASA is one of the world s leading manufacturers of polyester, fiber, filament yarn, polyester-based polymers, specialty polymers and intermediates. SASA successfully manages the entire process from design to manufacturing and distribution by combining its leadership responsibility in its sector, its strong technical heritage and innovation culture with its high production capacity. On April the 30th, 2015, Sabancı Holding shares were acquired by ERDEMOĞLU Holding, which led to a new shareholding structure in which 51% of the total shares were held by ERDEMOĞLU Holding, and the remaining quantity being publicly held. The share of ERDEMOĞLU Holding A.Ş. in SASA Polyester Sanayi A.Ş. has reached 84.80% at the end of the compulsory share takeover process completed in August 2015. SASA, which incorporates Nobel, ICI and Dupont technologies, has a strong technical infrastructure with more than 4,300 qualified employees, high-capacity and leading production facilities and the Research and Development Center established in 2002. SASA has its head office established on an area of 2,181,000 m² in Adana, where its integrated production facilities are located, along with its own raw material storage facility of 55.625 m² which is located in Iskenderun, and its liaison offices in Istanbul and Ankara.

PET Chips
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

As SASA s one of the base products, Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) polymer is a thermoplastic polymeric material formed by the interaction of dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) or terephthalic acid (PTA) with monoethylene glycol (MEG).PET polymer products in SASA s product portfolio are available for the following end uses: Film All kinds of film applications, especially food packaging Injection Manufacturing of all kinds of plastic materials Industrial Industrial applications requiring high tenacity, such as tire cord manufacturing Medical Parts of medical equipment and medical materials Textile Manufacturing of staple/filament fibers and nonwoven For products manufactured for the film industry, conductivity, which is a very important parameter, can be adjusted very sensitively. In addition to the standard film grade products, there are silica also masterbatch products containing different types of silicas in the product portfolio. The most common catalyst of PET production is antimony (Sb). Antimony-free PET products for differentiated end uses can be found in SASA s product portfolio. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is used as a delustrant in products, especially for textile end uses. TiO2 filling is possible between 0.0% and 1.5% by weight. PET with black color can be manufactured by adding carbon black during polymerization process. The target viscosity (IV) value in SASA s PET production technology is 0.64 dL/g. However, it is possible to make amorphous production between 0.48 0.70 dL/g IV. Additionally, it is possible to manufacture high IV products, such as 1.20dL/g IV with the existing SSP equipment.SASA can produce all of its products as 100% amorphous, semi crystalline or SSPed.Products are shipped in chips form by bulk containers or big bags. You can see our differentiated polymer products with the properties developed or modified such as dyeability, hydrolytic resistance, flame retardancy, melting point, glass transition point and water solubility in the Advanced Polymers section.

PET Resin
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

PET resin is a polymer manufactured from terephthalic acid (PTA), isophthalic acid (IPA) and ethylene glycol (EG) raw materials. SASA included the bottle-type PET Resin product group in its portfolio with the new MTR (Melt to Resin) facility with a capacity of 315 kt/year, commissioned in 2020. Thanks to the MTR technology, unlike the traditional two-stage method, bottle-type PET Resin manufacturing obtains a high viscosity product at the desired level with a single-stage process. Products: SASA PET BG - 76 SASA PET BG 80 SASA PET BG 84 Advantages: SASA PET Resin is a high-performance, user-friendly product thanks to its MTR (Melt to Resin) manufacturing technology. After the polymerization, the chips, which are granulated in underwater chips cutting units, take a spherical form. This spherical form offers users several benefits such as: -Low energy consumption, low carbon emission -Low dust content -Homogeneous IV distribution -Low acetaldehyde formation -Easier flow, less dust formation compared to cylindrical form -Main Applications: -PET bottles; carbonated and still mineral waters, soft drinks, oils -PET containers; Food, Detergent, Cosmetic, Pharmaceutical -PET Thermoforms -PET Sheets

Advanced Polymers
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Advanced Polymers In addition to base PET and PBT polymer products, specific homo-polymer or co-polymer products for special end uses are also available in SASA s product portfolio. Flame Retardant Polyester (FR) Flame retardant co-polymer PET products need prolonged exposure to flame for burning compared with standard PET products, and do not have a tendency to spread flames. This product is used as upholstery material in public transportation vehicles such as buses, trains and planes and in public areas such as shopping centers, cinemas and theaters. Halogen-free phosphor-based co-monomer is directly linked to the polymer chain. Its phosphor content is 5500 ppm. Cationic Dyeable Polyester (CD) Standard PET polymer can only be dyed by dispersion dyes once the polymer is formed.Dispersion dyeing entails high cost, requires dyeing equipment with high pressure, and has limited color range. The cationic dyeable copolymer PET product is developed to eliminate these disadvantages.Product becomes dyeable by cationic dyes with the help of a functional co-monomer linked to the main polymer chain. The base end use is textile manufacturing. Low Melt Polyester There are both PET and PBT copolymer products in SASA s product portfolio that have a lower melting point than standard polymers. They are used mostly as mono-component or bi-component binder fibers in non-wovens. The melting temperature of the product (Tm) can be adjusted between 110°C and 250°C, and similarly the glass transition temperature (Tg) can be adjusted between 20°C and 80°C. Hydrolysis Resistant Polyester After the polymerization of polyester, carboxyl end groups remain in the structure of polymer chains. These carboxyl end groups cause hydrolytic degradation when the product is exposed to humidity or water for a prolonged time. SASA s hydrolysis-resistant polyester product in its product portfolio does not have hydrolytic degradation. Hydrolysis Resistant Polyester is developed to overcome the above-mentioned effects of carboxyl end groups and thus the product life is prolonged. The main end uses are all applications that contact with water consistently. Water Soluble Polyester Water-soluble polyester is a wax like product that is in solid form under room conditions and dissolves in water. It does not have a properly cut shape due to its low glass transition temperature. Water-soluble polyester is used as coagulator in stone washing of denim products, in dyestuffs, binders and cosmetics. Water-soluble polyester is used as a coagulator in stone washing of denim products, in dyestuffs, binders and cosmetics. Polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) PEN is a thermoplastic polymeric material which is formed by the polymerization resulted from the interaction of naphthalate dicarboxylic acid (NDC) with monoethylene glycol (MEG). PEN has a higher glass transition temperature (Tg) than PET. Thanks to its high heat resistance and high mechanical properties, PEN is used in the production of flat screen TVs, printed circuit, reusable food packages, etc. Co-polymerization is possible and the co-polymerization degree can be adjusted according to the end use.
